2011 Arneis

Arneis

Winemaking Notes

This was the second vintage of Arneis that we have made at Holm Oak, and as it isthe only Arneis made in Tasmania. The fruit was picked at around 12 Be. The fruit was destemmed and then pressed to tank and 2 old oak barrels. The juice in tank was racked and then the juice in both tank and barrel underwent natural fermentation, to give the wine more palate weight and complexity. The wine was left on primary lees for about 3 months prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes
This wine shows some interesting peach, honey dew and almond characters on the nose, which is supported by some soft spice aromatics. The palate is quite fresh and lean and finishes with preserved lemon characters. This is a wine that is great with lighter style dishes and salads and is best drank within 3 years of production.
