2009 Chardonnay

Winemaking Notes
The fruit for this wine was picked at 12.9 Baume when the grapes showed maximum fruit intensity. The fruit was destemmed and pressed and the juice was allowed to cold settle for 2 days prior to racking. Some light lees was included in the juice to add extra mouthfeel to the palate. The juice was fermented on 0.5g/L of French Oak staves to add texture and intensity to the wine without making the wine appear oaky. The wine was left on yeast lees for 4 months prior to racking, fining and filtration.

Tasting Notes
This is a lightly oaked, fruit driven style of Chardonnay. The nose shows aromas of stone fruit and pineapple, whilst the palate is has a full creamy texture which finishes with limey acidity.
