2008 Riesling
Winemaking Notes
The 2008 vintage was warm and relatively dry resulting in good conditions for the production of cool climate Riesling. The fruit was picked at 11.0Be to enable the production of a citrus and mineral style Riesling with the characteristic cool climate floral characters also evident.
The fruit was fermented at low temperatures and with an aromatic yeast strain to preserve and enhance the natural fruit characters of the wine. Following fermentation the wine was stabilised and bottled under screw cap to ensure maximum freshness.
Tasting Notes
The 2008 Riesling is a vibrant and lively wine. The nose displays aromas of lime leaf jasmine whilst the palate shows mineral characteristics with fantastic fruit purity and steely acidity, which is balanced by a small amount of residual sugar.
